HAPPY NEW YEAR ! ! ! !

            Let's start with the Christmas Party.  A BIG THANK YOU to everyone for your support of the club and your generous donations to the "Toys For Tots" program.  The Sergeants in attendance were very thankful not only for toys, but for being able to join us in our festivities.  FYI:  An Email was sent out to the general membership requesting feed-back on the Christmas party - sad to say - only SIX PEOPLE responded.   Since the attendance for the party has declined over the last few years, and we really wanted to know why?  Is it the date, the location, the food, the music, the cost??  Help us make the Christmas party the best it can be – speak up – let your opinions be heard – come to the meetings.

Board of Directors:

          Please welcome John Payne to the Board of Directors.  If anyone else is interested there are still Director positions available.  You just have to be a member in good standing (for at least 2 years) and be able to attend at least 9 meetings per year.

FISHING REPORT: as of last month there were Blackfish off Long Beach / Blue fin out by the head buoy and Herring at Democrat Point. 

DOES ANYONE WANT TO DO A COD TRIP maybe out of Captree? Let us know.

St. Patty’s Day is around the corner and once again the club is going to enter a float of some kind (to be determined) in the Parade.  But for now we need a show of support.  Anyone interested in marching, handing out flyers, or working the crowd please come to the February meeting.  It was a lot of fun last year and this year should be even better.

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE - the club as a whole is getting older and we really need to get some younger, newer members to remain an active club.  Bring a Friend / Bring a Neighbor.  Any suggestions for a membership drive will be appreciated.  We talked about getting a table at the next West Marine Tent Sale and Frank Bingham volunteered to be our representative.  Anyone else interest in volunteering please contact the club.

The MAKO TOURNAMENT is right around the corner - we need two people to step up and help learn the “in's and out's” of running the tournament - Stephen Morales has been doing it for several years now and want to step down.  He is willing to train two people to take his place – but you need to remember that

Membership Dues are now due…. $35 per person - must be paid prior to March meeting (03/12/2012) to be eligible for 2012 prizes all dues can be paid at the next meeting or mailed to the club address below
